The MSJ logo represents the initials of its founder pharmacist Michel S. Jacovides. The snake-shaped symbol "S" resembles the symbol of medical science and indicates the domain of the Group's business. The three leaves above the letters symbolize a flourishing and growing organization.

The Group's activities in Cyprus focus on the importation, marketing, sale, distribution and scientific support of an extensive range of healthcare products in the following sectors: pharmaceuticals, medical devices, laboratory equipment and supplies, dental health, consumer health and animal health & crop protection products.  The members of the Group in Cyprus include:  M. S. Jacovides & Co Ltd (est 1944), PharmNet Ltd (est 2000), Vetagrica Ltd (est 1977) and LifePharma Ltd (est 2002). 

In 2005, MSJ acquired LifePharma Ltd, a company operating in Cyprus in the field of pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, babyfood and consumer health products.

Since 1982 MSJ has had a significant presence in the Greek market with its affiliate, M. S. Jacovides Hellas SA, which is a well respected supplier of innovative, high-tech single use medical devices for hospital use. 

In January 1997, Genesis Pharma SA was established as a new affiliate in Greece.  The company's main business activities focus on in-licensing, marketing, sales and distribution of specialized pharmaceutical products mainly stemming from biotechnology research.   Today, Genesis Pharma is one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in Greece.  The ability to establish strategic alliances with leading American and European biotech companies, such as Amgen, Biogen Idec, Celgene, Cephalon, Shire and Vifor, has been a key factor in Genesis Pharma's success.  In January 2000, the company established a wholly owned subsidiary in Cyprus - Genesis Pharma (Cyprus) Ltd. - aiming to handle biopharmaceuticals in the Cyprus market.  To further reinforce its regional presence in South-eastern Europe, Genesis Pharma has established representative offices in Romania (2001) and Bulgaria (2004), has entered the markets of Slovenia and Croatia and is currently entering the market of F.Y.R.O.M.
